An Easy, Flavor-Packed Comfort Meal for Busy Weeknights

If you're short on time but still craving something warm, hearty, and satisfying, this Dump-and-Go Kielbasa Casserole is your perfect go-to. Loaded with savory smoked sausage, creamy cheese, and crispy hash browns, it requires almost no prep—just toss everything in your slow cooker and let it work its magic!

🧂 Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Smoked Kielbasa (sliced) 1 package (approx. 14 oz)
Frozen Hash Browns (shredded or diced) 1 bag (32 oz)
Onion (diced) 1 small
Cheddar Cheese (shredded) 2 cups (divided)
Sour Cream ½ cup
Milk ½ cup
Cream of Mushroom or Chicken Soup 1 can (10 oz)
Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder To taste
  1. Prep the Base:
Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker. Add in the sliced kielbasa, frozen hash browns, diced onion, and 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir gently to combine.

  2. Make the Creamy Sauce:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom (or chicken) soup, milk, sour cream, and seasonings—salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder—to your taste. This creamy blend brings richness and depth to the dish.

  3. Combine & Cook:
Pour the sauce mixture over the kielbasa and hash brown blend in the slow cooker. Mix slightly to coat everything evenly. Top with the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese for a gooey, cheesy finish.

  4. Let it Cook:

    • Cook on LOW for 6–8 hours

    • Or on HIGH for 3–4 hours
The casserole is done when hot throughout, bubbly, and the hash browns are fork-tender.

  5. Serve & Enjoy:
Scoop onto plates and serve with a crisp green salad or roasted vegetables for a balanced, satisfying meal.

✨ Optional Add-ins:

  • Add diced bell peppers, broccoli florets, or mushrooms for extra color and nutrition.

  • Swap in Monterey Jack or Colby cheese for a different cheesy twist.

  • A sprinkle of chopped fresh parsley or chives before serving adds a fresh finishing touch.

This dish is pure comfort food with minimal cleanup, perfect for family dinners, potlucks, or meal prepping. Just dump, go, and enjoy the cozy deliciousness!
