🍹 Bahama Mama Tropical Drink

A vibrant, layered cocktail bursting with sunshine flavors, coconut vibes, and just the right amount of rum punch.

πŸ›’ Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 1 oz orange juice (fresh or bottled – preferably pulp-free for smooth texture)

  • 1 oz pineapple juice (adds a tropical sweetness and juicy tang)

  • Splash of grenadine (for a sweet pop of red and beautiful color layering)

  • 1 oz light rum (like Bacardi – for a classic tropical base)

  • 1 oz dark rum (like Myers’s or Gosling’s – adds depth and richness)

  • ½ oz coconut rum (like Malibu – creamy and smooth with island flair)

  • ½ oz banana liqueur (optional but traditional for an authentic flavor)

  • Crushed ice (for that slushy, chilled effect)

  • Pineapple wedge & maraschino cherry (for garnish – adds flair and color)

🍍 Instructions:

  1. Chill Your Glass:
Pop your cocktail glass in the freezer or fill with ice water while preparing the drink.

  2. Mix the Magic:
In a cocktail shaker filled with crushed ice, combine:

    • 1 oz orange juice

    • 1 oz pineapple juice

    • 1 oz light rum

    • 1 oz dark rum

    • ½ oz coconut rum

    • ½ oz banana liqueur (if using)

Shake well for 15–20 seconds until well mixed and icy cold.

  3. Prepare the Glass:

    • Discard the ice water (if you used it to chill the glass).

    • Add a splash of grenadine directly into the bottom of the glass for that gorgeous red sunset look.

    • Fill the glass about halfway with crushed ice.

  4. Pour & Layer:
Slowly strain the shaken mixture over the ice. The grenadine will stay at the bottom, creating a beautiful layered effect.

  5. Garnish:
Add a pineapple wedge and a maraschino cherry on a cocktail pick. A paper umbrella or a tropical straw takes it to the next level! πŸŒ΄πŸ’

πŸ’‘ Optional Variations:

  • Frozen Bahama Mama: Blend everything with 1 cup of ice until slushy.

  • Extra Fruity: Add a splash of cranberry juice or mango juice for variety.

  • Mocktail Version: Skip the rum and use coconut water and banana nectar instead.

🌞 Why You'll Love It:

  • Tastes like a Caribbean vacation in a glass 🍹

  • Refreshing, fruity, and sweet with just the right rum kick

  • Beautiful to serve and easy to make
