Sweet Peach Iced Tea

This refreshing iced tea is infused with real peach flavor from simmered frozen peaches, naturally sweetened with a blend of sugar and honey, and finished with a strong black tea base. It's the ultimate summer drink—cool, sweet, and bursting with juicy peach goodness.

βœ… Ingredients:

  • 1 family-size black tea bag (or use 3 regular-size bags of black tea)

  • 4 cups frozen sliced peaches (no need to thaw)

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • ¾ cup honey (preferably raw or wildflower for floral depth)

  • 8 cups water, divided (4 cups for tea, 1 cup for syrup, 3 cups to dilute)

  • Ice, for serving

  • Optional garnishes: fresh peach slices, lemon wedges, fresh mint sprigs

πŸ“ Instructions:

Step 1: Brew the Tea

  1. In a medium saucepan or kettle, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.

  2. Remove from heat, add the family-size tea bag, and let it steep for 8–10 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger and bolder the flavor.

  3. Remove the tea bag and let the brewed tea cool slightly.

Step 2: Make the Peach Syrup

  1. While the tea is steeping, add the following to a separate saucepan:

    • 4 cups frozen peaches

    • ¾ cup sugar

    • ¾ cup honey

    • 1 cup water

  2. Bring this mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. As the peaches soften, use the back of a spoon or a masher to gently crush some of them to release more juice and flavor.

  4. After simmering, you’ll notice a rich, golden peach syrup with soft peach pieces.

Step 3: Strain (Optional but Recommended)

  1. For a smooth tea, strain the peach syrup through a fine-mesh strainer into a large bowl or pitcher.

  2. Press down on the peaches with a spoon to extract every drop of syrup.

  3. Discard the solids or set them aside to use as a sweet peach compote over yogurt or toast.

Step 4: Mix the Tea

  1. In a large pitcher, combine:

    • The brewed tea

    • The strained peach syrup

    • 3 more cups of cold water

  2. Stir thoroughly to combine all the flavors.

  3. Refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours to chill fully.

Step 5: Serve and Garnish

  1. Fill tall glasses with ice.

  2. Pour the sweet peach iced tea over the ice.

  3. Garnish with fresh peach slices, a wedge of lemon, or a sprig of mint for an extra refreshing touch.

🌟 Tips & Variations:

  • Stronger tea? Steep longer or add an extra tea bag.

  • Want a fizzy version? Replace part of the cold water with sparkling water right before serving.

  • Using fresh peaches? Just peel and slice them before simmering.

  • Make it in advance: This tea stays fresh in the fridge for up to 4–5 days.

πŸ’¬ Serving Idea:

Serve in mason jars or tall glasses with a peach slice and lemon wheel on the rim for a southern tea party feel!
