Ingredients
For the Cake:

1 cup (240ml) hot coffee or hot water
-
1 cup (240ml) buttermilk
-
½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
-
2 large eggs
-
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-
1¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour
-
¾ cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
-
2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
-
1½ teaspoons baking soda
-
½ teaspoon baking powder
-
½ teaspoon salt
For the Chocolate Ganache:
-
¾ cup (180ml) heavy cream
-
1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
-
Optional: chocolate curls or shavings, for garnish
Instructions
-
Preheat & Prepare the Pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Generously grease and flour a bundt pan to prevent sticking. -
Mix the Wet Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the hot coffee (or water), buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. -
Add the Dry Ingredients
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Mix everything until the batter is smooth and fully incorporated. Note: The batter will be thin — this is normal. -
Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then carefully turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely. -
Prepare the Ganache
Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
In a small saucepan, heat the cream just until it begins to simmer.
Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 1 minute, then stir until silky smooth. -
Decorate the Cake
Once the cake is completely cooled, drizzle the ganache over the top.
Garnish with chocolate curls or shavings, if desired.
