Cheesesteak Stuffed Garlic Bread Loaf

Think Philly cheesesteak meets garlic bread—cheesy, beefy, buttery heaven in every bite!
π Ingredients:
For the Filling:
-
1 lb thinly sliced beef
(Ribeye or sirloin are best for tenderness and flavor) -
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
-
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
-
1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
1 tsp salt + ½ tsp black pepper
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1 cup provolone or cheddar cheese
For the Garlic Bread:
-
1 large Italian bread loaf
-
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
-
½ tsp salt
-
Grated Parmesan (optional)
π₯ Instructions:
1οΈβ£ Prep the Garlic Bread:
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Cut a deep trench through the center of the loaf, leaving a ½-inch border on all sides so it holds together. Remove the inner soft bread and set aside.
-
Mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, and salt in a bowl. Brush the inside of the hollowed-out bread generously with the garlic butter. Set aside.
2οΈβ£ Cook the Cheesesteak Filling:
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Add onions and bell peppers, sauté until soft and slightly caramelized (about 5–7 minutes).
-
Push veggies to the side and add the thinly sliced beef to the pan. Cook until just browned—about 3–4 minutes.
-
Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then mix everything together. Remove from heat.
3οΈβ£ Assemble the Stuffed Loaf:
-
Layer half of the shredded cheese inside the hollowed loaf.
-
Spoon in the warm cheesesteak mixture, packing it in well.
-
Top with the remaining cheese.
-
Brush more garlic butter on top of the loaf for extra flavor.
4οΈβ£ Bake:
-
Wrap the stuffed loaf loosely in foil and bake for 15–20 minutes.
-
Uncover and bake for another 5 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and the bread is crispy on top.
5οΈβ£ Serve:
-
Let cool slightly before slicing into thick, hearty pieces.
-
Serve with dipping sauces like marinara, spicy mayo, or even cheese sauce if you're feeling extra!
π€€ Pro Tips:
-
Use a serrated knife to cut neat slices.
-
Want to make it ahead? Assemble the loaf and refrigerate it covered for up to a day—just bake when ready to serve.
-
Add mushrooms or jalapeños for an extra twist!
Warning: May cause extreme cravings. Serve with napkins and good company. πππ₯
